Job Description:

Design and develop frameworks and school specific processes for the delivery of the academic project. Provide strategic direction on curriculum development and reviews.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage the finance and budgeting of the academic portfolio and oversee the implementation of the academic teaching and research strategy.
• Define teaching and assessment standards within the school as set by the university’s standing orders.
• Facilitate academic staff members’ continuous professional development as well as to proactively identify areas for improvement of academic quality and provide advice to the school on such matters.
• Provide adequate systems and establish structures relevant for the smooth running of the academic project.
• Provide oversight of academic research projects.
• Manage the development and introduction of new academic programmes.
• The candidate will also be expected to undertake research, teaching and student supervision activities on a minimal basis.
• The successful candidate will be offered an appointment for a period of three to five years. If s/he does not wish to apply for a second term of office, a suitable academic position in the
• School or Faculty may be offered.

Job Requirements:

• You have experience with online teaching and curriculum development.
• You have a doctorate in law and at least 5 years’ academic experience in a leadership position
• You have substantial professional experience, management experience, a good record of teaching, research and administration.
• You have a passion for building and sustaining scholarship of the highest quality.
• You have a record commensurate for appointment as an associate professor or professor in the School of Law.
