Job Description:
Locally and oversees, has the primary responsibility for implementing safety strategies, overseeing performance and implementing safety programs for assigned AO Global Line stations. Additionally, this leader is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of United’s SMS processes, programs and systems for assigned region(s).

- Interacts with business partners operating at line stations to adopt effective injury/damage reduction strategies, safety oversight, hazard identification, risk management and compliance monitoring
- Interacts with corporate support teams, including but not limited to Corp. Safety, Legal, Vendor Managment, Procurement, CRE, Human Resources and CSI in areas related to safety
- Work with business partner leaders to implement action plans to address safety risks
- Implement and support the Safety Excellence program for all domestic and international line stations in coordination with AO leaders and Corp. Safety
- Manage safety and compliance programs for assigned region including station visits, implementation of AO Safety strategies, facilitating injury and damage investigations, supporting safety training, guiding Safety Action Team (SAT) meetings, implementing safety initiatives and supporting AO leadership’s safety goals
Job Requirements:
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
- Knowledge of Airport Operations and/or Ground Handling functions
- Skilled in safety or system analysis processes and theories
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required (English language)
- Undergraduate degree in technical, safety or aviation related discipline or equivalent level of work experience
- CSP, ASP, OSHA SGE, OSHA 511/501, QHSE or other professional safety certification
- Must be legally authorized to work in United Kingdom for any employer without sponsorship
- Effective leadership skills in developing and directing a high performing team
- 3-5 years of Airport Operations (AO), Occupational/Industrial Safety or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, OSHA, NFPA, FAA, NIOSH, HSE
- Understanding of aviation safety, general safety and/or occupational safety methods
- Must be fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products and applications required
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
