Job Description:

Manages the Concepts & Collections jewelry category’s supplier strategy, sourcing, contracts and supplier relationship activities to meet management’s master acquisition plan for short and long term business objectives. Also responsible for providing input and analysis to support leadership’s goals around achieving best in class manufacturing performance and achieving savings objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Liaises with divisions and functions to align with direct material counterparts and function’s overall strategy and needs, ensuring procurement’s ongoing value contribution.
  • Ensures effective risk and compliance management with regards to category management.
  • Other Ad hoc projects as assigned.
  • Continuously supports the management of category benefits and other key performance metrics
  • Responsible for supplier onboarding and development.
  • Plans, deploys and disseminates category strategies and plans and conducts sourcing projects by engaging stakeholders and the required cross-functional resources for smaller spend sub-categories.
  • Manages Make vs. Buy supplier selection activities.
  • Continuously seeks best practices, cost reduction and process improvement opportunities – engages suppliers in the process.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Supports the director and senior director with th e execution of category management strategies and activities and of strategic sourcing process and approaches for assigned categories/sub-categories.
  • Conducts up to date supplier market analysis, category analysis and category risk analysis.

Job Requirements:

  • Conversational communication skills in a second language
  • 5 years’ experience leading category management or strategic sourcing initiatives
  • 5+ years of relevant management or supervisory experience
  • Project management experience in a leadership capacity
  • Advanced MS Office computer skills – specifically Excel and Access
  • Willing to work flexible hours to support deliverables and multiple priorities
  • High-end jewelry manufacturing experience
  • Strong organizational, verbal communication, writing and negotiation skills
  • Master’s degree
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Problem-solving and analytics skills, strong work ethic
  • Demonstrated coaching skills to support staff performance, development and training
  • Professional qualification / certification from related professional body, (ISM – CPM / CPSM, APICS)
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities
