Job Description:

Receiving, processing and storing routine biological specimens in BSL2 laboratory (e.g., blood, urine, sputum, saliva) for various clinical research projects;

Job Responsibilities:

• Assisting with staff and student training as needed;
• Preparing and reviewing standard operating procedures and laboratory forms, as needed;
• Performing scheduled after hours work if needed.
• Isolation of PBMCs and other cell types, ELISA, GeneXpert (various);
• Specimen logging on LIMS/project-specific databases;
• Performing administrative tasks (e.g., filing, stock taking, ordering, etc.);

Job Requirements:

• Willingness and medically fit to work with infectious human specimens in BSL3;
• Proficiency in LIMS / freezer inventory system and sample storage;
• Knowledge of ISO 15189, or 17025 guidelines.
• Knowledge of IATA and/or Dangerous Goods regulations;
• MSc degree in Immunology, Molecular Biology, or a related field with a minimum of one year’s relevant working experience in an ISO accredited laboratory,
• Experience with ELISAs and/or flow cytometry;
• Experience in mammalian cell culture;
• Valid GCP certificate;
