Job Description:

Sappi Ngodwana Mill requires a Reeler Assistant to work along the #2 Uptakes operator to ensure maximum production while meeting the required set safety and quality specification standard. This role reports to the Shift Superintendent.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform all duties as requested by the process operator or the shift superintendent
• Report all equipment failures and abnormal plant conditions
• Perform set functions as directed by the process operator
• Use and understand all best practices related to the position and equipment being operated
• Label reels effectively with printed labels.
• Perform general cleaning of the relevant machines and equipment during shutdowns or as times permits
• Move reels onto the scale for weighing purposes, then onto the conveyors to be transported to the pulp slab for storage
• Operate the reel conveyer safely and efficiently

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 6 months relevant experience in a production environment
• Matric with Maths and Physical Science or N3 Pulp and Paper
