Job Description:
Within our Tax National Division, the Tax Controversy & Dispute Resolution (TCDR) team offers its expertise to clients to enable them to escalate/resolve administrative/procedural matters as well as resolve complex dispute related matters with SARS.

- Ensuring timely delivery
- Drafting of opinions/objections/appeals/VDP’s for clients as well as submitting to SARS and corresponding with SARS;
- Proactively identifying areas of contention and discussing these with the engagement team and proposing solutions (where possible);
- Research of complex tax dispute/administrative related issues;
- Interpretation of tax legislation as well as assisting with commentary on new legislation/amendments for SAIT;
- Assist in advising clients on how to manage administrative/procedural matters with SARS
- Planning assignment approach including understanding client expectations and scoping work;
- Assist with the implementation of agreed advice with SARS
- Liaison with SARS and Counsel regarding complex and uncertain tax dispute matters; and
Job Requirements:
- A post-graduate tax qualification would be ideal.
- Preferably advisory/legal practice experience
- 3 – 4 years’ experience in a tax consulting environment
- Relevant Tax Administration Act knowledge;
- Specific areas of expertise: i.e. TP will be advantage
- Self-starter with the ability to provide solutions to business problems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Relevant professional qualification (Admitted attorney and/or Postgraduate studies in Tax)
