Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure that the site’s resettlement projects are implemented as per the requirements in the Social Way 3.0 Section 4F on Land Access, Displacement and Resettlement.
• Ensure the Discovery team, project teams, and contractors understand the relevant elements of the Social Way 3.0.
• Tracking the effectiveness of the cultural heritage management plan, contractor social management planning and activities, and resettlement planning and implementation to ensure that organisational objectives are met within the constraints of resources and time.
• Identify, assess, and manage the social performance aspects of near-site Discovery activities and ensure these are captured in the SMP, SEP, and Baseline WRAC as appropriate.
• Ensure that the LOAP adequately incorporates the social performance issues related to CAPEX and SIB projects in the pipeline.
• Coordinate resettlement planning and implementation with the BU. Manage the development of the site’s Land Access and Displacement Strategy and the Resettlement Action Plan and
• Livelihood Restoration Plan.
• Manage the development and implementation of the site’s cultural heritage management plan as per the Social Way 3.0 and legal and regulatory requirements.
• Consistently apply Safety & Health principles in all team interactions and take personal responsibility for safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities.

Job Requirements:

• Grade 12
• A valid Driver’s license
• Knowledge of, and proven ability to operate at a senior level
• Project Management certificate
• Experience of delivering strategic social management plans for businesses and operations.
• 10+ years of experience working on social performance or project management in the extractive industries sector
• Strong knowledge of development and/or international development.
• A bachelor’s degree in Economics, Social Science, or another relevant discipline
• Experience with the IFC Performance Standards.
