Job Description:
SpaceX is looking for the first Prototype Specialist to join our team and lead manufacturing efforts in delivering production-ready scale mock ups and prototypes for the technology of the future. These prototypes will serve as a critical tool for customers and critical stake holders to review and approve aesthetic and production changes.

- Serve as a production expert to the design team
- Working with technical teams to develop processes and procedures to more effectively delivery high quality production ready mock ups
- Working autonomously to set up and manage the design & prototyping shop
- Managing and growing business relationships with vendors, customers and internal team
- Develop and execute capital expenditure plans for equipment purchase to support the growth and manufacturing resources available to the design team
- Producing presentation ready mock ups and prototypes for display and final approval to customers, key decision makers and executive teams
- Provide actionable manufacturability and development feedback to engineering and design teams
Job Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience designing or producing prototypes
- 3+ years of experience designing or prototyping consumer products (electronics, toys, household goods, or similar)
- Bachelors in design, engineer or fine art
- 3+ years of experience with digital modeling platforms (NX, Solidworks, Rhino, Autodesk, etc) and Adobe Suite
- Well versed in managing design concepts from conception, planning execution and final delivery
- 3+ years of experience designing, planning and executing and delivery on production ready mock ups and prototypes ready for executive and customer approval
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
