Job Description: Reporting to the Operations Manager, The Operations Supervisor will oversee and coordinate the activities and operations of the facility’s event set-ups and maintenance programs and complete department scheduling and part time payroll while ensuring the efficient operation of the venue. [the_ad id="29344"] Job Responsibilities: Follow the hazardous materials communication program, material safety data sheets and required records and permits. Attend internal meetings representing the operations department and represent the facility at external meetings as deemed necessary. Check, verify and approve part time payroll work sheets. Meet with staff to identify and resolve problems; assign work activities, projects and programs; monitor work flow; review and evaluate work products, methods and procedures. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, holidays and extended work days Provide Varsity Game operations support to game ops staff. Oversees the set-up of events, and directs and monitors the work of Building Operators and Custodians. Work with the Operations Manager and contractors to complete outside maintenance and repairs. Job Requirements: WSIB Joint Health & Safety Certification considered an asset. A minimum of two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience in facility operations, maintenance or a related field (preferably in an arena, stadium, convention centre, or other public assembly facility). Familiarity with OHSA requirements. Computer proficiency in email, MS Word and MS Excel. High school diploma. Building management or maintenance courses preferred. Knowledge of or involvement with sports considered an asset. Knowledge of HVAC, boilers, chillers, refrigeration, and ice making considered an asset.
