Job Description:

The Sr Data Engineer – Digital Solutions is responsible for preparing the Data Foundations in collaboration with the Enterprise and Supply Chain teams. This includes consumption from ADLS2 and other Azure storage solutions, application of DevOps, pipeline optimization through the creation of staging layer, and incremental loads.

Job Responsibilities:

• Data Engineering: ETL pipeline development, star schema data warehouse
• Technologies: Azure (ADLS2, Databricks, Data Factory), big data storage formats (e.g., Apache Parquet, Databricks Delta tables) and multiprocessing/multithreading
• Algorithm development: version control (e.g. Bitbucket), unit testing, CI/CD
• Model deployment: Python Dash, Python Django, R shiny
• Technologies: Python (incl. PySpark), R (incl. sparklyr), Kubernetes
• Thought leadership: driving a culture of best practices in software and pipeline development and work with IT partners to ensure the data architecture is fit-for-purpose

Job Requirements:

• Advanced experience in development, construction, testing, and maintenance of data architectures
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical manufacturing processes
• Excellent proven personal leadership, collaboration, communication, and analytical skills are required.
• Excellent coding skills including Python, R, and their Spark interfaces (PySpark, sparklyr), an open-source spirit
• Strong project management skills in a deadline-oriented environment are required.
• Experience in Tools used in the Digital Stack (Microsoft Azure, Azure Data Lake)
• Self-starter with a can-do attitude to engage in hands-on fast prototyping and proven business acumen.
• Sound understanding of software engineering best practices including version control and CI/CD; attention to detail and ready to work collaboratively
• Experience with computer system validation (CSV)
• Fluent in English verbally and in writing.
• Advanced understanding of software and pipeline development aimed at data-driven business value generation.
• Familiarity with industry standards related to GxP IT solutions (CFR Part 11, EU Annex 11, GAMP5)
• A strong technical understanding of ETL processes, data analytics tools, and their associated technologies is required.
