Provides engineering support of highly technical and advanced manufacturing processes typically requiring specialized qualifications, knowledge and/or skill

- Performs project planning and manages project resources, including multiple individuals and disciplines, to achieve quality, delivery, and cost objectives
- Recognized authority within area of expertise with wide versatility of experience and capability Works under administrative direction occasionally with some latitude for un-reviewed actions or decisions
- Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments
- Originates, refines, and releases complex manufacturing or inspection work directions
- Participates in establishing operating procedures on new products and components
- Plans and performs engineering testing and development programs and uses advanced statistical and scientific methods to address and resolve critical engineering and production problems to assure product manufacturability/inspect ability
- Applies mathematical, physical science, and advanced engineering technologies in accomplishing engineering objective
- Conducts research and development experiments to resolve complex engineering and quality problems involving highly technical and scientific methods
- Writes technical reports on results and conclusions drawn from experiments conducted and incorporates findings in formal specifications
- Defines and recommends new designs, design changes, and alternate designs of instruments, and test equipment, and orders tooling, gaging, and equipment necessary to assure product quality
- Estimates set-up times, flow-times, costs of production and acceptance equipment, and compiles cost estimates and delivery quotations, monitors performance, and prepares reports, statistics, and recommendations for management review
- Performs project management and design, development, evaluation, and quality control functions on highly complex engineering projects, regularly offering innovative solutions to significant technical problems
Job Requirements:
- Six or more years of relevant experience in Engineering
- Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited Chemical Engineering program
- US Citizenship required to obtain and maintain US Department of Energy Q-level security clearance
- Demonstrated experience in project leadership Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certified
- Demonstrated application of advanced design, development, evaluation, and quality control techniques to complex engineering concepts and projects
- Demonstrated providing technical guidance, project management guidance, consultative services, and innovative solutions
- Demonstrated working without supervision, with latitude for independent action and decision making
- Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing or quality processes and techniques
