Job Description:

As the Accounting and Controls Manager for the Europe business unit, you will lead and manage various aspects of the monthly and quarterly accounting close processes, both the statutory (IFRS) legal reporting and the US GAAP reporting requirements of our legal and management entities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create and present financial reporting to support the Europe Leadership Team in the financial management of the legal entity and Europe PMU. (20%)
  • People Management – 2 direct reports (20%)
  • Ensure compliance to local tax laws and regulations. (40%)
  • Maintain timely and accurate recording of all accounting transactions for the Europe legal entities.
  • Ensures best practice internal controls within the Europe business unit (10%)
  • Manages the external audit and statutory accounting processes for our UK legal entity. (10%)

Job Requirements:

  • eCommerce (e.g. Amazon) and online trade experience are preferred
  • Flexibility to respond quickly and professionally to multiple requests while adhering to strict reporting deadlines
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in finance and/or accounting and at least 2 years in the role of Accounting or Finance Manager.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and experience in internal control improvement
  • Strong knowledge of financial systems such as NetSuite ERP and Concur (Expenses and Invoicing) system
  • Experience in external and government reporting – HMRC (UK Revenue); EU; Customs and Excise, Corporation Tax, VAT
  • Experience in multinational business and cross-boarder intercompany transactions is highly desirable
  • Superior communication skills with the ability to present financial concepts and results to senior management and non-finance audiences
  • Global multinational FMCG experience is preferred
  • Solid understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS. US GAAP experience is preferred but not required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to independently prioritize, promote a team environment, work in a cross-functional environment with the ability to influence other functional areas, and form solid relationships with other teams and workgroups.
  • Company Secretary experience preferred
  • Proven leadership and project management skills with a solution-oriented mindset.
