Job Description:

The Mechanical Technical Lead is responsible for mechanical repair work, mechanical skill building, mechanical projects, and mechanical technology for the entire plant. The Mechanical Technical Lead will be the expert for mechanical work at the site and and will focus on long term health and continuous improvement of mechanical systems, components and skills.

Job Responsibilities:

• Flow to the work as needed to support successful business operations.
• Drive continuous improvement in mechanical downtime, component life, and cost.
• Maintain maintenance shop, tools, and facilities at standard.
• Coordinate with contractors to ensure safe execution of contractor work.
• Mechanical contact for plant based and corporate projects and initiatives.
• Develop, update, and improve technical documentation.
• Build and develop mechanical skills in other maintenance staff.
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors.
• Coordinate with leadership and the Maintenance Planner on equipment priorities.
• Stay informed and skilled on new mechanical technology.
• Build and develop mechanical skills in operational staff.
• Ensure that all equipment is maintained in safe operating condition.
• Coordinate and lead large mechanical jobs including planned outages.
• Repair mechanical equipment to restore production.

Job Requirements:

• Safely operate and maintain shop equipment.
• Advanced understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanics.
• Capable of operating hand, power, and specialized tools.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and fast-paced change.
• Ability to interpret data and drive continuous improvement.
• Excellent problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong computer skills with willingness to use tablets.
• Ability to train others of various skill levels.
• Experience with packaging equipment strongly preferred.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems.
• Strong mechanical skills across all applicable technologies.
