Job Description:

Prepare and process samples received in accordance with the laboratory’s SOP, Isolation and identification of bacteria using standard laboratory procedure.

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain culture for future use,
• Typing of Salmonella species, Pasterurella, Klebsiella and other organism,
• Execute duties required by the quality system (ISO 17025).
• Perform diagnostic administrative tasks and stock control,
• Examination of culture to identify significant bacteria that are known to cause disease within the context provided by the case history,

Job Requirements:

• Good interpersonal skills,
• National Diploma or B-Tech degree: Veterinary Technology,
• Professional membership: SAVC compulsory,
• Driver’s licence will be an added advantage.
