Job Description:

Be actively involved in safety initiatives. Provide an in-house function regarding lube services and other minor work as directed by maintenance artisan

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform safety and health inspections and implement corrective action
• Provide hand-on assistance to the maintenance artisan in the repair and maintenance of the MMU’s
• Perform engineering inspections, identify problem areas and implement pro-active maintenance improvement corrective actions
• The incumbent will ensure that the maintenance area and oil store is kept clean
• The incumbent will be responsible for weekly greasing of MMU’S

Job Requirements:

• Sense of urgency
• Be able to work under pressure
• A good understanding and knowledge of safety standards, quality management and production processes in a manufacturing environment
• Must be willing to be cross-trained on electrical and instrumentation skills
• Minimum of 3 years workshop experience as an artisan assistant
• Must have experience working with hand tools such as jigsaws, drilling machines, bench grinders and machinery
• Must be able to work without supervision at all times
• Good written and oral communication skills with all levels in the organisation
• Grade 12 or N3 Certificate
• Hands-on technical, production and quality management experience is essential
• Pneumatic experience will be an advantage
