Job Description:

In this role you will be responsible for leading Investor Services Operations function for the domestic market, and ensuring that the team operates effectively, efficiently within compliance and regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

• Leading on strategic relationship management, developing policy and delivery on priority initiatives.
• Conducting regular reviews of the business environment to identify real and potential risks
• Leading, developing, and motivating the Custody Operations team – including responsibility for performance management, development, under-performance, training, assuming reward and recognition, grievance cases, and discipline.
• Developing and maintaining networks within the Absa Group across critical areas, including but not limited to product owners, client coverage, and service.
• Providing inputs into reviews of Custody procedures, process maps, BRDs for new systems enhancements and new product design
• Performing in-depth analysis of all Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) results monthly
• Designing and implementing risk reduction, mitigation and avoidance measures to address potential or identified risks
• Providing expert advice and guidance on operational products to teams, internal stakeholders and, if appropriate, clients
• Managing, driving, and leading teams that oversee the operations processing function across settlements, corporate actions, data administration, Regulatory reporting and full transaction monitoring.
• Explaining targets and take accountability for the monitoring and achievement of performance objectives in Custody Operations in terms of employee satisfaction, customer experience, and cost performance, return on investments, risk, and compliance and governance requirements.

Job Requirements:

• Knowledge of regulatory and statutory requirements: PASA, SARB and Strate Rules
• Knowledge and experience in Custody Settlements and Corporate Action processes
• A Bachelor’s degree
• Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
• 7 years or more of Custody experience
